The U.S. First competition is a design
challenge in
which high school students are paired with professional engineers or college
students to design and build a remotely operated mechanical device which competes
against other machines of its type to win national honors.
Cortez High School teamed with Honeywell, Inc. for the 1994 and 1995 competitions.
Honeywell has Again sponsored us for the 1996 competition..
Cortez students work with retired Honeywell engineers to design and build a robot. Robocolt, tied for third nationally in 1994.
R2C2 made it to the semi-finals in 1995 as well as received other awards!
We are now awaiting the 1996 rules so that we can start building our robot for the 1996 competition...
The students and faculty of Cortez High School would like to thank Honeywell, US First, and the other sponsers of the competition.
Without them none of this would be possible...
