Summer is slowly approaching, which means many positive things. Now that COVID seems to slowly die down, one of the things we’re most excited about is festivals making their comeback. If you’re into music, or if you like going out in general, festivals are a lot of fun and simply something you have to experience at least once. In this blog, we’ll introduce you to three of our favorite European festivals. Pack your bags and get ready!
1. Sziget – Budapest, Hungary
Festivals can be more than just some artists performing their songs; some festivals are made into a complete experience. One festival that’s a perfect example of this, is Sziget. Sziget takes place in Budapest, on an island in the middle of the city. It goes on for seven days and offers you a wide variety of different artists. Sziget offers you big names like Justin Bieber, Tame Impala, and Calvin Harris, but also has a wide variety of different smaller names, from all over the world.
One thing that’s ideal about Sziget, is that you can easily visit Budapest too, as you’re not forced to stay on the Sziget territory. Budapest is a beautiful city that has a lot to offer. 2. Glastonbury – Glastonbury, UK
The British culture is one that’s very different compared to other European cultures. One way to find out is by visiting Glastonbury. This festival is mostly filled with British acts and has a very big attendance of British people. If you want to experience a true party, Glastonbury is the place to go. Not only is Glastonbury set up beautifully, every year it has different acts bringing it they’re all. Whether you like a good pop song like Lewis Capaldi, or you’re more into some heavy punk like IDLES, Glastonbury truly has it all. Glastonbury manages to offer a unique variety of names every year. For example this year, they have Paul McCartney as one of the headliners. You don’t want to miss that!
3. Best Kept Secret – Beekse Bergen, the Netherlands
Are you not into typical pop music but do you prefer alternative music instead? The Dutch festival Best Kept Secret is the perfect festival for you! Every year, Best Kept Secret offers a wide variety of different lesser-known acts, combined with some bigger names like Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, The Strokes, and Jamie xx. Best Kept Secret doesn’t just give you music, as they like to focus on anything cultural. If you give this festival a visit, you’ve given yourself the opportunity to find new artists, new food, and many other new experiences.
