This is the icing on the cake when you’ve completed your case study analysis assignment. This is what you’ll deliver to your professor, who will hopefully be impressed by your knowledge and writing skills. A presentation is exactly the same as a pitch deck or presentation deck. So we will be using the terms interchangeably.

Here are some important factors to consider when doing this presentation:

1. Use Visuals.

The more visual elements (maps, graphs, charts) that you can incorporate into your presentation pitch deck, the better. Visuals help you explain/analyze data in a fun way that’s not boring for others to listen to or watch. If it’s possible, include links to online videos as well as images from those videos that will reinforce certain points about your topic.

2. Make It Clear and To The Point.

Your presentation pitch deck must be around 20 minutes long. So, really try and edit your case study report into a good story that incorporates only the most valuable information while still including important concepts such as the thesis statement, main body paragraphs, and all speaking points.

3. Don’t Go Overboard with Background Knowledge About The Subject Matter You’re Presenting On.

Keep your audience in mind when preparing for this assignment. If the audience doesn’t know much about the topic, don’t assume they need detailed background knowledge or graphics explaining everything in detail before getting to the crux of what you have to say in your presentation. For example, an investor will not put facts or elements that are irrelevant to their investor pitch deck. So why should you?

Some visual learners learn better through pictures/videos than text pieces alone. Some people are text learners who would prefer to dig into your case study details right away. Make sure you cater your message to these different types of people.

4. Speak Confidently.

This means shying away from filler words like “um” or “uh.” On the other hand, don’t say “like” too much. Appear professionally by wearing nice clothing (and shoes) during your presentation. As with all best pitch decks and presentations, be sure that you have a firm grasp of your material and know all case study analysis report basics before the presentation.

5. Make It Personal and Real; Don’t Try Too Hard to Seem Like A Professional Speaker.

The presentation may not be intended for an audience of hundreds or thousands, but still make it as presentable as possible through writing and speaking skills. Don’t use slang words or informal terms in your presentation (unless there is some sort of joke you’re trying to make). Instead, use formal language and avoid using contractions at all costs. Your professor will want to look good in front of their boss/class if their school uses this case study presentation as part of the course grade.

In addition, remember that you also want to make this presentation personal, like you’re speaking directly to an individual. Unless it’s a larger class with hundreds of students in the audience, make eye contact when addressing people. Don’t try too hard to seem like a real professional by looking straight down or up at all times without making any eye contact with your professor and other presenters.

6. Practice.

As obvious as that may sound after reading the last 4 quick tips, we’ll emphasize again that preparation is vital when completing these presentations for class credit or even fun (if you’re doing it just for yourself). We highly recommend creating a design using Venngage so you can edit out mistakes and practice your “pacing” from start to finish. The more you practice, the better you’ll become at editing and delivering a presentation to an audience.

Also, recording yourself can help you tremendously when spotting flaws in your presentation.

7. Relax!

Don’t stress about every little detail; if you’re well prepared for this project, it should go pretty smoothly. Before your actual presentation, do some dry runs in front of a mirror or with friends/family to ensure that you can deliver your message effectively. You don’t want to be worrying about remembering what comes next as you’re speaking, which is why practicing out loud is a great way to prevent any worries from showing up.

8. Don’t Be Scared to Take Your Time!

It’s better to go over the time limit than to cut things short and leave people wanting more information. Many students feel pressure from professors or other presenters to hurry up and finish their presentation, but realize that it will show if you rush through a well-thought-out message.

There is no right way or wrong way to complete this assignment, so feel free to do whatever works best for you! Research and compare presentation pitch deck designs with others if you’re out of inspiration.

There is no right or wrong way, but there is a smart way. The content is the essence of your presentation, so you must focus most of your time on it. However, it’s also essential that your presentation is cohesive. Use presentation or pitch deck templates like the ones easily accessible from Venngage.
