One of the best Twitter tools that you can use is not one that only brings traffic, but also one that converts traffic as well. Sadly, they don’t make one that converts traffic, but they should, right?
Surprisingly, most people I talk to don’t get great traffic response from Twitter. Having to say what you need to say in 140 characters seems a bit hard, and it feels like you may be better going to MySpace and driving what’s left of the traffic over there to your site.
If you aren’t using Twitter for your social media strategy, then you should be. I want to talk to you about Twitter and some ways that you can really bring this platform to turn around to be one of the best traffic-getting social media sites online!
What I Think The Best Twitter Tools Are
While researching this post out, I thought I would search for all of the Twitter tools that one could actually use for their site. Sadly, I stopped when I realized that there are literally over one million tools that you can use to your benefit AND your demise!
So out of sheer boredom, I stopped looking.
What really benefits me when I read someone’s blog post is when they tell me their experiences with different things: what they recommend or hate, that sort of stuff. This will be no different. I want to disclose some of the best twitter tools that I personally use to both get traffic and keep tabs on your friends, and people you’re trying to establish a relationship with.
The best Twitter tools to use for traffic
These are my favorite to write about. I get so excited when I talk about different Twitter tools, and I’m sorry, but I get excited because this is where the majority of my traffic comes from. This is my bread and butter.
Twitter Automator: TweetAdder
A Twitter automator is something that you can use to schedule tweets for the future. What I mean is, with one of these tools you don’t have to worry about staying on Twitter 24/7. It’s doing the work for you and bringing great traffic every day because you are constantly tweeting updates.
Tweet Adder is one of the best Twitter tools because when you link your Facebook account to your Twitter account, you are actually posting to two major social media sites!
I highly recommend this tool because not only does it bring in steady traffic for me every day, from two social sites, it also helps me manage a lot of things on Twitter while I can’t be there.
TweetAdder’s best functions:
I see people on Twitter that have tweet after tweet after tweet popping up, taking up everyone’s space…this is a great way to lose followers, and while you’re legitimately trying to be nice and share someone’s blog post to Twitter, you can always tell when someone doesn’t have a tool like this because they have a long line of recent tweets hogging the atmosphere.
As you can see, this is basically the main page that I stay on. You can minimize TweetAdder to your toolbar, and it will run all day and all night.
A couple of features on this page are: You can edit your updates anytime you want. The blank space is where you will put your recurring tweets. You can play around with wording, but I have found that using catchy titles in updates is a great way to bring in more visits from this platform. Some people will only use their blog post title; however, if that’s not catchy enough to bring in people, then you may have to re-think it.
Under the update bar, you will see that you can schedule your tweets. This is what is going to be so important in your strategy. First of all, you don’t want to be one of those people that are constantly posting updates, filling up everyone else’s timeline. That’s not good. I have found that I can schedule tweets about every 13-15 minutes, and still allow other people their tweets as well.
This is just one of the many features that you can use with TweetAdder. There are follow and nofollow features, retweets of different accounts you are following, and a long line of other great things. I totally recommend this Twitter tool!
The best Twitter tools for activity and networking
Tweet Deck is one of my favorite things to use for Twitter. It really opens up the platform for people that are really trying to network and keep up with other activities on this social media site. With Tweet Deck, it’s all about the user. You can monitor different feeds from Twitter by opening up anything that interests you without leaving your timeline stream. With Tweet Deck, you can pick from different keywords you want to stay in touch with, friends, etc. in different streams.
As with any social media platform, Twitter has trends that are hot every day. These are basically hot keywords that people are using or searching on Twitter. With breaking down your feed like this, you can keep tabs on different hot trends on Twitter.
Speaking of trending keywords, and this is something you’re going to have to keep up with to bring traffic to your site, I use a site called WhatTheTrend.com to stay up to date on the most used trendy words on Twitter. You can search for trends by location or day, and it will really help you drive more traffic.
Basically, you can search for a couple of trends here and then watch them by creating a column on TweetDeck for that certain word. You can see how many people are actually using this keyword and what they are trying to accomplish with it.
The Best Twitter Tools For Networking
One of the most important things that you can do for your blog is to create relationships, follow blogs, and build friendships. Doing this on Twitter is no different.
Commun.it is a great tool for managing your communities on Twitter. Not only does this help you cultivate your followers on Twitter, but it also helps you build important relationships.
Commun.it organizes your Twitter feed into three different types:
- High influencing people
- People that are known for supporting
- People that really stay engaged on Twitter
- Pick and choose from what sites and keywords you want to look for when establishing a relationship.
The reasons that this tool is one of the best Twitter tools out there is because it allows you to monitor people that you want to build a relationship with and also gives you the benefit of watching those people that have shared and re-tweeted your updates on Twitter. It is a great tool for monitoring all kinds of different activity that is related to you and your blog.
This is one of the best Twitter tools that you can use for engagement! It’s a great way to keep up with friends and other people that you are trying to build relationships with. What I like about the tool is that I can build groups around people that are in the same niche as I am. For instance, I have Jeff Bullas, Kim Garst, Ileane Smith, and Michael Stelzner all built into one social media group. I can go to this group and see what these people have been saying.
There are endless possibilities with this tool, and it is seriously one of the best Twitter tools for networking that you can get, and it’s free!
In Conclusion:
These are some of the best Twitter tools that you can have for your Twitter account. Let’s face it; you’re not going to have enough time to implement all of the Twitter programs out there, so having some that will give you the most bang for your buck is what you’re going to want to find.
Like me, you’re just going to have to browse the tools yourself and see which ones are the best Twitter tools for your account. What do you think? Do you have a Twitter tool that you really like using that brings a lot of value to your account?
