As one of the 40 million adults who suffer from anxiety disorders in the U.S. alone, as soon as I started hearing about CBD products and how they could help relieve anxiety symptoms, I knew I had to try it.

There are countless CBD products on the market today, from CBD oils and tinctures to topical creams, gels, and lotions, to edibles that most often include gummies. My favorite is Penguin CBD. Their gummies are available here: https://penguincbd.com/products/cbd-gummies.

When it comes to CBD gummies and other products, it’s natural to wonder about how they will make you feel – especially if you’re not familiar with (or fond of) marijuana’s high. The good news for you, though, is that THC is the cannabinoid responsible for the high feeling – not CBD. And our CBD gummies contain 0% THC, so there’s no risk of feeling high after you eat a couple of gummies.

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines any substance that affects mental processes as “psychoactive.” Using this definition, CBD could be considered psychoactive, but the important part is that CBD isn’t intoxicating, even in concentrations higher than what most people would ingest.

In a 2017 report on CBD, the WHO says that while THC can impair psychomotor abilities and cognitive performance, clinical studies, in general, have shown that even high doses of oral CBD don’t cause the psychoactive effects that are associated with THC and THC-rich cannabis.

How will CBD gummies make you feel? Relaxed, calm, and focused. You won’t necessarily feel “happier” than usual, but the absence of the anxiety you’re used to may help you get to the happy feelings your anxiety generally hides from you.

candy, licorice, colors

CBD gummies are a common way to consume CBD because they taste good, which is something many CBD oil products don’t necessarily have going for them. They are also much more convenient to use, especially on the go, because all you have to do is grab a couple and eat them just like you would any other candy. In the case of the best CBD oil, there’s the hassle of carrying the bottle of liquid, hoping it doesn’t spill everywhere, and then having to administer it under the tongue.

That said, using CBD gummies can take an hour or more to take effect, whereas using CBD oil sublingually or vaping it has a much faster effect. CBD gummies will make you feel the same way – it’ll just take you longer to feel it. But an added bonus is that because the CBD gummies are absorbed through stomach through digestion, the effects tend to last longer than with other methods.

The key is optimizing your dose for the desired effect. More doesn’t always equal better, so it’s best to gradually adjust your dose and go from there. If you take more than you did last week and notice the effect isn’t any stronger or better, then there’s no need to continue taking the higher dose.

Many factors influence how well CBD products work. If it is made with CBD isolate or distillate, how concentrated the CBD is, and even your individual reaction to CBD. Each of us has an endocannabinoid system, with endocannabinoid receptors in the brain. But, everyone’s body is different.

Many of us can eat bread without suffering a reaction because of gluten. Many can drink milk without suffering a reaction to lactose. Many can eat peanuts, shellfish, and other common allergens without a problem. However, not all of us are so lucky. It’s much the same way with the CBD consumption – since everyone is wired a bit differently because of genetics.

A number of factors, such as your weight, overall health, metabolism, age, and circulation affect the timing of the effects of CBD.

For some, it may not take much at all to achieve the desired effect, while others may need more. That’s because of the number of endocannabinoid receptors in the brain, and the amount of endocannabinoids your body produces on its own. If you have more receptors or produce fewer endocannabinoids, you won’t need as much because you’ll naturally be more sensitive to it compared to someone who doesn’t have a lot of receptors or produces an abundance of endocannabinoids.

gummi bears, sweetness, colorful

The trouble with that is, you don’t know which category you fall into until you start using it for yourself. And that depends on which type of product you’re using. Your dose and timing for CBD oil and tinctures will be different than gummies, and those will be different from topicals.

The good news is, once you find your optimal dose (as long as you stick with the same product) you should be good because you won’t build a tolerance to it.

Changing products – from one brand of gummy to another – may mean you need to adjust your dose because of differences in the product. Changing from gummies to tinctures, for instance, may require an adjustment because of differences in the product.

Our CBD gummies, which often sell out because of how popular they are, are made with a pure CBD isolate. They are both sweet and sour, to cover a variety of taste preferences. Each gummy contains 10 milligrams of CBD, and there are 30 individual gummy worms in each package. We use CBD isolate in our gummies because it makes for the best and clean-tasting edible possible. The isolate also ensures you get nothing but CBD, and there’s absolutely no THC in our product.

While we hope our CBD gummies will melt your worries away completely, it should go without saying that using CBD may not completely address your anxiety. You may still feel a bit anxious if your anxiety disorder causes high levels of anxiety, but you should, in general, feel more relaxed.

If you’re able to feel your anxiety go completely away for a while, it’s also not reasonable to expect that a single dose of CBD will make it disappear forever. CBD gummies, and other CBD-based products, are meant to be another tool in your belt to help you when you just need to relax. And you can do it without getting the paranoia, munchies, and dry mouth that you’d experience with marijuana or THC.
