The Euros are getting closer, and if you told me five years ago that, as an American, I’d be excited about a European soccer (football) tournament, I would have laughed at you. But it was this exact tournament that got me hooked nearly 4 years ago, just as the COVID restrictions were loosening and life was getting normal again, the football fans had a tournament to watch and one of my friends got me interested and I haven’t stopped watching since. As a none soccer fan, I know that it can be quite daunting, so I will give you a guide on the best players and who to watch.
Kylian Mbappe
What I’d like to say is, that I won’t mention players over 27 as I want you to learn about the younger players first and there is no better place to start than with Kylian Mbappe. He is a top 3 best player in the world and has consistently lit up the European competitions he has been a part of. With France being one of the favorites on Boylesports Euro 2024 betting, it is a good time to watch Kylian Mbappe and see what all the fuss is about.
Phil Foden
Phil Foden is a very technically sound player and one of my favorite players to watch in the world. He is an English star and may miss out on playing in his favored position due to the position Jude Bellingham (I will talk about him later) will likely play, but what is great about the 24-year-old, is his versatility: he can play anywhere across the front six and this versatility is massive for England. He has been incredible and continues to impress week in and week out with his finishing and all-around incredible ability that makes your eyes magnetized to him at all times. He is playing for one, if not, the best team in the world, in Manchester City, and is their leading man this season, which speaks volumes on his talent.
Lamine Yamal
Yamal is a very special football player, and at the time of writing, he is only 16 years old and has already started for one of the biggest clubs in the world, Barcelona, and he is putting up great numbers and performances. Apart from the fact that him being 16 and being born in 2007 makes me feel very old, he is a very talented player and could run football for 20 years and always be on top of the game. The Euros will be his first international tournament, and he could start or play a lot of minutes, and you can see how talented this young man is.
Jude Bellingham
This player is a very very bright talent again, being only 20 years old, he is the future of the England National team. In the summer transfer window, he signed with Real Madrid, who is the biggest club in the world, and that move has not changed him one bit. He has only gotten better, he hasn’t let the big media attention affect him and or his personality and he has been a stand-up professional all season. He is the starlet of England and a future footballing legend and this is a great place to start watching him.
Jamal Musiala
One of the shining lights for the legendary soccer team, Bayern Munich, is the 21-year-old who has been a starter for Bayern Munich for a few years now, and that shows no sign of changing. This tournament will most likely be the first tournament where he is the leading man for his national team, and it is the perfect place to do this as the tournament takes place in his home nation of Germany. He is another player similar to Foden where he is very versatile, this versatility he offers could bring in other young players like the very talented Florian Wirtz and make Germany even stronger. He is technically proficient, gets into great areas, and is very mature for how young he is, and he will be one of the best players in the tournament.
