Panda Express is the largest Asian fast-food chain in the United States today with over 2,000 locations and is also a billion-dollar business. The company was founded in 1987 by the married couple Andrew Cherng and Peggy Cherng, which was opened in the Glendale Galleria in California in 1983.

What made this chain grow exponentially was the addition of “Orange Chicken” which was invented by Chef Andy Kao in 1987. This menu item is reported to have sold over 80 million pounds of weight since its invention!

Panda Express opened its first drive-through location in 1997, and this was the start of another expansion explosion.

The company is family-owned, and they continue to grow their chain globally. In 2005 Andrew and Peggy were inducted into the California Restaurant Hall of Fame.

There are a number of rules and regulations, but the main ones that concern you are these:

  • The receipt you have from your restaurant purchase is only valid for 2 days. This means that you must take a survey within 2 days of getting your receipt
  • You are not limited by the number of times you can take a survey using a different receipt each time.
