Within 1 year, by 1959, the brothers started offering a Franchise option for people who wanted to set up Pizza Huts of their own. It was only in 1963 that the brothers contracted the architect Richard Burke to create the iconic red roof that we now associated with Pizza Hut.
Modern Pizza huts don’t just sell Pizza’s they come with a full bar, a juke box and some have games too. In 1977, Pepsi bought out the chain and now it’s a Pepsi company, which many don’t know. Also, today you might see some Pizza Hut locations without the red roof, since franchises area allowed to choose their own roof style.
